2017 Provincial / Canadian Championships

This month has been incredibly busy. Provincial Championships and Canadian Championships were hosted in my city and I was lucky enough to be able to attend both competitions. There were so many amazing routines. I especially enjoyed watching the Olympic athletes perform. They were inspiring.

Canadian Championships featured the best Rhythmic gymnasts from across Canada. The competition was intense and a ton of fast paced, high difficulty routines were performed. This competition was probably my favourite even though my club was not in attendance. The highest combined score from this competition was 125.600 from Carmen Whelan.

Provincial Championships were very exciting. Sunday's competition featured many different gymnasts and my club was extremely successful. Each gymnast ranked at least once and many multiple times. We finished the weekend with a total of 32 titles. Provincials was our biggest competition of the year.

However, the season is not done yet. We still have our end of year showcase coming up in less than two weeks. I am receiving a brand new routine for this. On Monday my coach choreographed the first quarter. Yesterday during training we finished another 30 seconds. Hopefully we'll be finished by tomorrow night. I'm very excited to showcase my routine. Only seven more practices to go!

Here are some of the highlights from the 2017 Rhythmic Gymnastics Canadian Championships.
